Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Sepia sends messages, stores personal data, takes payments, and generates content — on your behalf, using shared infrastructure. This policy exists because one account misusing any of that can get every other customer's messages blocked. It applies to you, everyone on your workspace, and anyone you give access to.
1. Messaging
You must not:
- Send marketing messages to anyone who has not consented to receive them.
- Send to purchased, scraped, rented, or otherwise unverified contact lists.
- Ignore an opt-out. STOP means stop, immediately and permanently, on every list.
- Disguise who is sending, or use a number or sender identity you are not entitled to.
- Send messages in restricted categories without the required registration and approvals.
Consent is your obligation to obtain and to evidence. See the SMS Terms.
2. Data about other people
You must not:
- Upload personal data you have no lawful basis to hold or process.
- Record a call without the consent every applicable jurisdiction requires.
- Use Sepia to build profiles for sale, or to enrich data for onward sale.
- Store payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or credentials in free-text fields. Payments go through Stripe; that is what it is for.
- Use Sepia's forms, scores or automations as the sole basis for decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on a person — such as credit, employment, housing, insurance eligibility or pricing — without a person reviewing the outcome.
3. Prohibited content and activity
You must not use Sepia to:
- Break the law, or help someone else break it.
- Defraud, phish, or impersonate a person or organisation.
- Distribute malware, or run anything designed to damage or overload a system.
- Harass, threaten, or target an individual.
- Produce sexual content involving minors, or non-consensual intimate imagery — including generated. There is no exception to this one and no warning before termination.
- Generate a real person's likeness or voice to deceive.
4. The platform itself
You must not:
- Probe, scan, or attempt to break isolation between workspaces.
- Access data belonging to another workspace, or try to.
- Automate the product in ways designed to evade limits, pricing, or metering.
- Resell or sublicense Sepia except under a partner arrangement agreed with us in writing.
- Share one seat among several people. Seats are per person.
Good-faith security research is welcome. Report what you find to info@sepialabs.ai before disclosing it, and we will not pursue you for it.
5. Fair use of shared resources
Plans are sized for normal business use. Sustained automated load far beyond that — or usage that degrades the service for other customers — may be rate-limited or capped. We will contact you before acting on this unless the impact is immediate.
6. What happens if you breach this
Depending on severity we may contact you, suspend a specific capability such as outbound messaging, suspend the workspace, or terminate the account. For anything that endangers other customers' deliverability, exposes personal data, or is illegal, we act first and explain after.
Suspension for breach does not entitle you to a refund of the current period. See the Refund Policy.
7. Reporting abuse
If you believe a Sepia workspace is breaching this policy — including sending you messages you never consented to — tell us at info@sepialabs.ai with enough detail to identify the sender, and we will investigate.
